Eagle Harbor Waterfront Park Dock, 301 Shannon Drive NE Bainbridge Island, Washington EAGLE HARBOR BOATER FAIR EVENT PROGRAM Bainbridge Island Boater Fair, will kicks off National Safe Boating Week, will give the Bainbridge Island Residents and visitors, including the media the opportunity to meet local first responders and become knowledable about boating safety through demonstrations and discussions. The event will include displays booths, rescue boat tours and information about boating safety, radio communications and paddle-craft safety. Bainbridge Island Boating Safety Week is an excellent opportunity to meet US Coast Guard, Bainbridge Island Police Department Marine Emergency Personnel and get acquainted with Bainbridge Island boating community in Eagle Harbor, with a very diverse boating community. There is always a potential for danger on the water and the Bainbridge Island Boater Fair promotes safe boating practices. Fort Ward Amateur Radio Club wants to ensure your safety on the water, as well those around you, it is important that Bainbridge Island Boaters be familiar with state laws related to vessel operation. Know the proper way about: NO ONE may operate a vessel on the waters of Washington state while impaired or intoxicated through the consumption of either alcohol, drugs or medication drizzeness. Life jackets are required under the following circumstances: Fort Ward Amateur Radio Club, is working to bring back a WWII Minesweeper that was built in Eagle Harbor at the Winslow Marine Railway and Ship Building Company. This historical Bainbridge Island ship would become a Naval Museum Ship in motion, a historical landmark in Eagle Harbor were it was built in 1940's. It is part of US Navy Program, that provides decommissionedd reserve fleet ships to counties. AM-239 is currently in Philippine Navy waiting decommissioning, at which time diplomatic communication will established to bring AM-239 Minesweeper back to its orginal port Eagle Harbor, Bainbridge Island, Washington State. Boater Captains can can check in via VHF or Echolink if they are out of the repeater’s range.
