Bainbridge Island WWII Fort Ward Naval Tribute is eternal gratitude for the dedication of duty and sacrifice of WWII Veteran, along with those service members and families who served our country at United States Naval Radio Station, Bainbridge Island. This Bainbridge Island WWII Fort Ward Naval Tribute will help us to never forget, to honor and remember the memory of those "Naval Radiomen and Station Personel" for the 24 hour radio surveillance and communications to our pacific fleet during WWII.
2024 Bainbridge Island 57th anniversary of Grand Old 4th of July, and as of Saturday, April 1, Fort Ward Amateur Radio Club is planning to officially participate in Hometown Parade.
Fort Ward Amateur Radio Club is designing a horse drawn carriage, with radio tower, radio operator and 2 vintage Hallicrafter SX-28 Recievers used at NPC "S", with a Navy Escort on each side of wagon and oldest island born, living WWII Fort Ward Navy Radio Station Family, for the mile-long parade through the streets of Historical Winslow Way. Bainbridge Island 4th of July Parade Celebration is the annual high point of island public events.
Fort Ward Amateur Radio Club, need to raise necesary funds, to acquire horse drawn wagon, materials to decorate wagon and other parade requirements.
Fort Ward Amateur Radio Club Station Operators should look for activity on: 2, 6, 10, 15, 20, 40 and 60 meters, where propagation is expected.
