It is part of US Navy Program, that provides decommissionedd reserve fleet ships to counties. AM-239 is currently in Philippine Navy waiting decommissioning, at which time diplomatic communication will established to bring AM-239 Minesweeper back to its orginal port Eagle Harbor, Bainbridge Island, Washington State.
