Amateurs Radio Operators Contribute To Their Community And The World At Large Bainbridge Island Fort Ward Amateur Radio Club, Volunteers Radio Operators, help our island communities in good times and bad, through community events, disaster response, and various public service programs. Bainbridge Island Fort Ward Amateur Radio Club, amateur radio operators step up to assist a number of “served agencies” with public service and emergency communications. This includes local events, such as helping out Bainbridge Island Community Engagements, CERT/REACT and other emergency team searches; statewide emergency disaster events, such as providing communications during a environmental catastrophes; and international events, such as helping international aid groups coordinate their efforts after a disaster. Bainbridge Island Fort Ward Amateur Radio Club Members, who became interested in radio spectrum has allowed members to follow rewarding careers in the high technology sector. Amateur radio contributes to the national skill base and thereby to the economic wellbeing of our Island Community and the country.Bainbridge Island community events that require radio communications along with event management routines for logistic support, scoring, first aid, documentary photography, emergency response and much more . In the professional tradition of amateur radio, Fort Ward Amateur Radio Club Members, have stepped up to provide this public service. These events also serve as a way for each radio operator to test radio equipment under event conditions...and provide public service and community fellowship.
