FWARC PURPOSE OF FEMA-CERT UNIFICATION

Readiness and preparation to deploy in emergencies, Bainbridge Island , Fort Ward Amateur Radio Club. Community Emergency Management Team is part of FEMA and Homeland Security unification to respond in any Bainbridge Island emergency disaster, civil defense or a community crises situation and successed in endeavors of our national purpose by being ready, prompt and sustained professional dominance across the full spectrum of emergencies as part of the joint networking of a unified forces and community public safety organizations.

The FWARC-FEMA-CERT unification missions are vital to the community and national security because amateur radio service is capable of joint networking within a "Unified American Force", anytime and anywhere.

While Fort Ward Amateur Radio simultaneously promotes unifying community organizations and governmental leadership and maintaining professional ability to meet the challenge of any emergency. The Fort Ward Amateur Radio Club Members will do this through the employment of modern radio technology sustainment systems, and coupled with robust combined network formations and tactics doctrine centered on exceptional emergency professional personel and declinational Leadership in emergency situations.

COMMUNITY EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT TEAM SERVICES

Fort Ward Amateur Radio Club, Community Emergency Management Team Services (CERT) is a special part of the amateur operation sponsored by the "Federal Emergency Management Agency" (FEMA) and Homeland Security. CERT was primarily created to provide emergency communications and relief services for desaster civil defense preparedness agencies and is governed in FEMA and Homeland Security Rules and Regulations.

Fort Ward Amateur Radio Club, is utilized during a variety of emergency/disaster/community crises situations where normal governmental agencies and communications systems have sustained damage or when additional communications are required to provide vital assistance. Situations that Fort Ward Amateur Radio Club can be used include: natural disasters, technological disasters, terrorist incidents, civil disorder, nuclear/chemical incidents/attack and community crises.

Fort Ward Amateur Radio Club, Community Emergency Management Team Services (CERT) is an organization of dedicated licensed amateur radio operators and professional volunteers who provide radio communications, professional aid or relief in support of state and local government agencies during times of an emergency/disaster or community crises assistance. Fort Ward Amateur Radio Club provides essential communications for profesional aid groups and crises and warning links to supplement state and local government assets during these emergencies/disasters. Fort Ward Amateur Radio Club Officers, and Emergency Operational Center Station Manager and other volunteers work within the EMD Telecommunications Section during exercises and emergencies.

Fort Ward Amateur Radio Club operate the amateur band radio systems stationing, but assist with other radios emergency systems within the Emergency Operational Centers and at mobile locations as needed or required by law.
