1. A Sum of $ 5,000, will be provided to winning student recipient of Fort Ward Amateur Radio Club Scholarship Essay Award, subject to available funds granted by sponsors annual donations by: To provide neccesary funding for Fort Ward Amateur Radio Club Scholarship Awards. 2. Selection process will include the review of individual student applications submitted essay and interviews of the winning student finalists by: 3. In order to be eligible for the scholarship, an applicant must: a. Hold a current valid Amateur Radio License, any class, issued by the United States Federal Communications Commission/FCC. b. Priority will be given to student FCC licenced amateurs radio operator, who are active in amateur radio related activities in: c. Student is enrolled full-time 12 credit hours school academics. c. Currently be a middle or senior high student with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better. d. Plan to, or official enrolled in a 2 or 4 year degree program at an accredited college or university. Essay Priority given to students major interests in the fields: e. Be a U.S. citizen and resident of Bainbridge Island, Washington, or a member of Fort Ward Amateur Radio Club/FWARC. f. Displaying good code of conduct and upstanding leadership skills as a student, participatin in school programs or activities and community volunewerism. 4. The first half of the scholarship money will be paid in PENDING directly to the applicant upon proof of acceptance to the college or university program. The second half of the money will be paid directly to the student in PENDING upon proof of satisfactory completion of fall term with at least 12 credit hours, GPA of 3.0 or better and student in good standing. 5. The scholarship will be null voided, if not used within two years of the notification of award. 6. The scholarship recipient student must maintain contact with the Fort Ward Amateur Radio Club/FWARC to advise them of their academic progress while attending middle, senior high, college or university. Sudent recipient must write a "Letter of Appriecation" to Fort Ward Amateur Radio Club/FWARC. 7. Applications must be submit no earlier than PENDING and no later that PENDING.
