Private Car Notice 1-03

Subject:

Parking Fees and Service Outages

Date: June 20, 2003    From: Don Cushine

In an effort to keep you more aware of changes, we will now issue Private Car Notices on a regular basis. These notices will be numbered sequentially and will include information that will hopefully assist us in keeping you informed in a much timelier fashion. These notices will be sent via e-mail and will also be posted on the AAPRCO web site.

I have a fair number of e-mail addresses but I am sure that there are some that I do not have. If you know of anyone who is not on this list, please send me an e-mail with the addition or change.

Parking Fees

Parking fees have increased at two locations (please see below). The City of New Orleans owns NOUPT and has imposed a 20% surcharge on all private car parking at that location. Also, effective July 1, 2003, the current commuter operating agreement terminates between Amtrak and the MBTA. Effective that date, they have imposed a $300 per day charge, per car.

New Orleans-effective immediately
A 20% surcharge (City of New Orleans charges) on the total cost of parking, ground power and occupancy fees while in NOUPT.

Boston-effective 7/1/03
A $300 fee (MBTA charges) per night, plus the regular ground power, occupancy and key facility fees.
